A word from the Principal

Updated 12/2/2019

St. Patrick’s College has a proud tradition of educating boys in the Cavan region for almost 140 years. We are a Catholic Voluntary Secondary School with Gospel values at the core of school life.
At St. Patrick’s College we deliver high quality, progressive and holistic education. We encourage and expect our students to realise their individual and collective potential within a supportive environment. Having recently moved into a new €10.5million state of the art facility we are now offering the broadest possible curriculum in order to provide for the diverse needs of our pupils.

We offer students a team of top class committed teachers who are dedicated to a culture of excellence where helping students discover and achieve their dreams are at the heart of what we do. In St. Patrick’s College your son will be presented with many opportunities and they will be encouraged to actively participate in school life. We are very proud of the academic progress and achievements of our students. A history of excellent Junior and Leaving Cert results exists. In recent years between fifteen and twenty percent of our pupils are achieving more than 500 points in the Leaving Cert. A very high percentage of our students attend third level and have excelled in a wide variety of careers.

I look forward to welcoming parents and their prospective students to our school.

Student Council Fundraising

The proceeds from the recent Student Council non-uniform Christmas jumper day were presented to representatives of the Kilmore Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes by members of St Patrick’s College Student Council. €1000.00 was raised and will go towards the cost of the annual pilgrimage to Lourdes. Students from St Pat’s have seen first hand the good work of the pilgrimage as they have accompanied it to help out in recent years.

Congratulations to Barry Conaty on receiving a Scholarship Award from DCU. Barry sat his Leaving Cert last June and received his award based on his excellent results. Well done on this fantastic achievement Barry..

It is with great sadness that we at St Patrick’s College heard of Fr Dan Sheridan passing away. Fr Dan was a past pupil of St Pat’s and served on the Board of Management from 2005-2014. He will be sadly missed by all here at St Pat’s. May he Rest in Peace..
